Hey New Yorkers, I’m going to be teaching some comics  classes and workshops in Greenpoint at Lab Brooklyn, starting in May, so sign up now to reserve your spot! There is a one shot workshop every Sunday called Show vs Tell, which addresses how to adapt a short written story (memoir or fiction) into a comic, or basically how to “write” with imagery, which is harder than it sounds. The same workshop is also offered as a more in-depth weekly 6-week course, in which you turn a short story into a comic zine. I’m also teaching a class for kids age 8-12 (although that’s very subjective, I’ll accept kids older and younger if they’re interested!) that is a 6 week course of making diary comics based on topics we choose together, and on the last day, they collect the comics and hand-make a zine.

All classes start mid to late May, and are taught at Lab Brooklyn, right next to McGorlick Park. Lab also has other workshops in other areas of study available, and we’re half the price of most art classes in NYC.
