Samples of Impossible People can be seen at The (Fart) Party’s Over  and at the end of this page. Donations go to supporting the work process and so I can continue to post free, new material online. It is not a pre-order for the book, as I’m considering doing a more online style release, but if you donate more than $20 flat or $5 monthly, I’ll send you a hand doodled thank you letter on an old library lending card!

Please note: The plug-in doesn’t allow less than $5 as box to check, but of course you can enter a lesser amount into the box below. Donations can be made monthly, or in a lump sum, and can be made anonymously if desired. If you prefer a different method than donation, I have original art and books for sale as well! If you have any questions, suggestions, other things to say, feel free to email me at juliajwertz(at)gmail(dot)com.

Q&A

Q: Why not Patreon?

Q: While many cartoonists have had success with Patreon (a monthly donation site) or with Kickstarter for specific projects, I decided I would rather create my own page for two reasons. 1) Both those sites are built on a rewards model for donation amounts. While that sometimes works great, my time is very limited and I think it would be more beneficial for readers, and myself, if I use all my time to generate new material for everyone to read, rather than spending time making extra nonessentials for an exclusive group of people. I’d much rather be making less money while producing substantial work, than making more money and creating extraneous things.

A) I am uncomfortable with the transparency sites like Patron and Kickstarter that make public financial amounts and goals. It is really no one’s business how much or how little anyone is making, and I have no set financial goal, as I’m just grateful for anything.

Q) Why do you need my help?

A) It’s no secret that being a cartoonist, even a successful one, is not a career of much (if any) financial stability. I am not complaining, I made the choice to pursue this work with full awareness of its limitations, and I’m glad I did. However, it makes working on long term projects difficult since there’s no money during the making of the project, which is why I made this page.

If you don’t want to donate but would like to help by purchasing something, you can always buy books, original art, photographs, etc.
